Default Unable to get PPP running

When I start the connection profile, I get "Session Job Starting" and then times out and ends after 5 minutes. It never gets to "waiting for incoming call" as I do when I startup a SLIP connection. I'm using Client Access Express for windows 4.4.0, OS/400 is at 4.4.0, The IOA type is 2720, modem is IBM 7852-400, line is analog as switched line. My use for this setup is to allow me to connect to the AS/400 from my laptop with the laptop starting the session. I'm all ears for any ideas/suggestions Thanks

Can you look at the job log? WRKTCPPTP -> option 14 -> option 4 'work with spooled files'.

Yes, I have a joblog report. First it "starts the point - to -point TCP/IP session for profile pppline". Then the next message is "Read fom comm. line pppline timed-out with return code -1 and error code 3412". After that it vary's off the device and controller and then ends. I tried to find what the -1 and 3412 meant but could not locate within the joblog.
