If you are in a S/36 environment......use the wrks36 command for work with s/36 configuration. Thats all I could find, but i think there is another command not S/36 related. Just don't remember it either.

Every thing on the system is an object. There are commands to see the configuration of every object on the system. The basic commands for looking at AS/400 configurations can be DSPSBSD, WRKCFGSTS, WRKSYSSTS/DSPSYSSTS, DSPNETA etc. You may want to go to the Major Commands menu (using F4 command key on the Command line) to search for the specific commands that you may be interested in.

Try GO CFG and GO SYSTEM. That brings you to menus of all the configuration-related and system commands. I'm not sure, but I don't think there's a single command to work with system configuration. Also, try WRKHDW* and you'll see the two hardware resource commands. What exactly are you trying to see with this command? There are a lot of configuration factors (disk status, device descriptions, system descriptions, system values, to name just a few). Plus, I know what you're going through. I don't use that stuff very often, and I can NEVER remember the command when I go to do it again. Helpful hint: you can search for commands by typing in as much of the beginning of the command as you're sure about, and see all the possible matches with the ever-loving * (star, splat, whatever you want to call it). The WRKHDW* I recommended above is an example. I tried WRKS* and didn't get any promising hits, except a reminder of how many different configuration-related commands there are. Let us know what your final answer turned out to be, so we can all learn. Thanks!
