Thread: Non-displayed fields

    Default Non-displayed fields

Is there a way to view non-displayed fields on an SDA input screen, easily??? I can't believe that IBM would not give some method to see them when you are in maintenance mode. Thanks in advance Bill

Press the F20 key. Non-display fields will appear in reverse white.

You might want to explore all the function keys and on-line help for SDA: just hit F1 on the design screen (or Help, if your keyboard actually has that key). You can do lots of nice things, like change your indicator values to work with conditioned fields, etc.

Is there a way to view non-displayed fields on an SDA input screen, easily??? If you press the F4 key, you will get a listing off all fields, including the hidden ones and information associated with them. HTH.. ==Scott==

F20 only brings up constants. The only way I can see to get the actual screen layout is to press F17 and print it. maybe Common can put that in their wish list to IBM. It would certainly help. Thanks for all the input. Bill

When you are in SDA maintenance press the F6 key. This will allow you to specify conditional indicators. If your non-display fields are conditional, Tyoe a "Y" in the specify indicators box, and then the indicator. When you press ENTER, the field will be displayed. Sometimes typing a "Y" without indicators is all that is needed. Dave

IBM like most software writers frequently does not provide a function that is an obvious need by the users. I think that this is one of those cases. I sure would like to have a function key that would let me see all of the fields.

As David noted, you can turn on/off indicators in the design view. Without specifying what you want to see, there is no way to show everything at once, because conditioned fields may easily overlap one another. Martin
