    Default FTP problem

When I attempt to open a session from my PC to the AS/400 I never get prompted for my user ID, password etc. Does anyone no what the problem might be? I have looked over the TCP/IP config and it looks OK. open 128.1.1.1 (where 128.1.1.1 is the IP address) (I get the following response returned...) > ftp: connect :10061

Did it connect to the System. Type user and see what happens. If you get prompted for password enter it. That will at least get you a little further in your search. Good Luck!

If I attempt to type "user" command, then it returns "Not connected".

Are you sure all the "services" are started on the 400?

If you are getting Not Connect then your ftp command never worked and your PC never connected to the AS/400 try the following steps On the As400 1. StrTCPSVR *ftp After the command has successfully completed then go to you pc. At the dos Command 1. Ping if you get successful response... then try ftp If your Ping did not come back successful, you might have problems with your Host name. Try using Ip addresses. hope that helps.
