V4R4 Upgrade & Firewall

We just did a 4.4 upgrade (from 4.2) and when the unsecure side of our firewall is ping'd from a workstation or router on the same physical segment we are getting dropped packets. This problem originally manifested itself as poor performance and in some cases our users could not consistenly make connections. Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have sean something like this. The box was also a mail server. SMTP was looping eating up loops of cycles. Do wrkactjob and see what kind of activity you have on the as/400.
