    Default Modem Problems

We use Sterling's Mailbox:Connect product for async and bisync transmissions. The following errors are produced regularly in the error log: 1) Clear-to-send signal dropped on modem interface 2) Data-set-ready error on modem interface We use IBM Options (7852 Model 400) modems. We've loaded PTF's recommended by IBM, but still have problems. The resources on the AS/400 are V.24 ports, model 2699-001. Our AS/400's are at OS/400 V4R4. Any suggestions? Thanks, Annette

    Default Modem Problems

It sounds like the modem is going through an initialization, and at a certain phase during this process it will drop these signals. Sometimes software will periodically send INIT commands to a modem, just to make sure it is still there.
