Thread: force new QHST log

    Default force new QHST log

Try this: Type WRKOBJ QSYS/QHST* *FILE and press ENTER. Delete all entries. This will force a new log, but I don't recommend the practice. Dave

    Default force new QHST log

I've done that in the past, but didn't want to resort to deleting them all. Do you think if I did a dspfd with *mbrlist and output to file, then I used the output file to find the # of records in the last qhst* file, change the system value qhstlogsiz to that many records, and then change the qhstlogsize back to the original # that it would create a new file?

I don't think so, but give it a try anyway. Dave

    Default force new QHST log

Does anyone know how to force the system to create a new QHST log? I'd like for the log to begin new before starting a SAVE 21 at month-end. I know when it get's to the max size specified in system value QHSTLOGSIZ it creates a new file. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
