    Wes, I don't have the exact dates, and I don't know about the /32, which was preceded by the sys/3, I believe. TTBOMK: 34 - 1978 38 - 1980 or 1981 Proj. Sunglow 36 - 1994 (Yes, the 38 came first.) Proj. Silverlake 400 - 1988 (Officially September I think. My birth month -bret

The AS/400 was released to the general public on June 17, 1988. The S/38 sometime in 1979, the S/36 in 1984-5. Dave

Wes, "Does anyone know the release dates of the all the IBM systems?" If find it very interesting that the timeline link Bob gave to the IBM site did not include ANY of the S/3X models! And the announcement letter archives only go back to 1983. And the sales manual doesn't have the announcement dates for the old stuff either. At any rate:
[*]1988 (June): AS/400[*]1983 (May): S/36 (yes it was after the S/38)[*]1979: S/38 announced; ships to customers in 1980[*]1978: S/34[*]1975? 1976?: S/32[*]1972? 1973?: S/3[/list]Although I worked on the S/3 and S/32, I was not in the industry when they were announced and don't recall the exact year on those machines. This list also ignores other machine series such as the 5100, 5110, 5120, S/23 or the PC series 5150 (PC), 5160 (XT), AT, PCjr, PS/1, PS/2, etc. It also excludes things like the System/7 and Series/1, data entry systems like the 5280, mainframe class machines, etc. Did you really want "all of the IBM systems"? Sorry, I guess I was a little vague on what exactly I was asking. Thanks for all the input though. What started this question was someone said the S/38 came before the S/36 and that started a small debate here at the office. Turns out different than most thought.... Thanks
