    Default Shared Storage Pool question

You are entering the world of performance tuning my friend! Are you new to the I Series? there is a document/manual/redbook that gives guidelines to use for sizing a pool - can't remember it off hand. What are you trying to achieve? I have a wealth of experience on this one - email me if you like clongley@fellowes.com

  2. Default Shared Storage Pool question

Shared pools can be a great thing. If your not familiar with the process I would strongly suggest you use caution. To create a subsystem that uses it's own memory pool will pull the memory from other pools, this has the potential to greatly impact your systems performance. I'm currently writing a procedure to make new system environments for clients I'll be happy to send you a copy if you would like to email me. tim.shafar@fiserv.com

    Default Shared Storage Pool question

How do I determine the amount of system resources to assign to a subsystem? It looks like the create subsystem description command is asking for Pool Identifier, Storage Size, etc. This is what I want to learn how to determine. Many Thanks, Wayne
