    Default RSTLIB V4R2 to V5R1 or R2 ??

    Can I restore data from a V4R2 machine to a V5R1 or V5R2 machine using SAVLIB / RSTLIB ??

    Yes. No tricks needed. To save from a later release back to an older release there are caveats. But to restore to a newer release, just save and restore like normal.
