Anyone using the SNMP function with MessengerPlus?

Have you looked at HelpSystem? They have a SNMP product. <BR>

We went with <a href="http://www.bytware.com/">MessengerPlus</a>. <p>Some advise for future purchasers of SNMP monitoring tools: <p>MessengerPlus is a great product and does as advertised, I would certainly buy it again. The problem with SNMP, I found out in our case, is that the MIB (config file) provided was not supported by our <a href="http://www.concord.com">Concord</a> agent. <p>We are now going through the cost and time to certify the product in Concord. Unfortunalty with no help from Bytware (according to Concord). <p>The good news is that between Concord and myself we are near completion of certifying a new MIB created by Concord. <p>So if anyone is getting a SNMP monitor, make sure the MIB is recognized by your monitoring agent <p>Thanks

Tango has a stand-alone agent that monitors this quite nicely. Here are links to more information: <BR>

The agent has the advantage of an intelligent logic evaluation tool that you can use very effectively to examine the contents of any varible bit of information returned from the device and take specific action. You can even take specific "delta" based action, comparing the value from the current measurement to the prior measurment, e.g. a status code change, how many bytes have been sent in the last time frame. <BR>
The agent can also receive and process SNMP Traps. <BR>
The agent will run stand-alone, it has its own GUI interface reporting statuses of monitored devices and web sites. It also has the ability to communicate with many other monitoring tools such as Tivoli or Tango's Visual Message Center via the Windows Event Log.

Can anyone suggest a SNMP monitoring tool for the AS400?. We already have Concord on a Win2000 server and need a user friendly AS400 product to interact with it. (I say user friendly because I'm reviewing a product now with no menus, no commands, and configuration files have to be changed using DBU or SEU.. and it 7K US!!!!) <p>The monitoring tool should monitor queue's, CPU etc. <p>Thanks <BR>
