Looking for Quarterdeck Systems Tape Backup Unit Model 120 3 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
I was going to put looking for Mr. Goodbar, but then I wouldn't get the needed results.
Yes I am one of those idiots who did not convert old tapes to new format when I had the chance, so here I am looking for someone to either convert several tapes or hook me up with the hardware so I can do it. Back in 1996-97 we went from the old System 36 Model 5260 to an AS 400 Advance System 36. We had a Quaterdeck Systems Tape Backup Unit 120 on the 5260, but the Advanced 36 came with its own QIC. Since we had already been audited by the state, we figured that we would never need the data on the tapes, but just kept them around for old times sake. The hardware is long gone, but I do have a copy of the software on the Advance System 36.
So there is my dilemma. If anyone can give me a clue as to where to start or go next as it were, i've already searched the web as best I can and the only thing I found was that others couldn't find anything.
I hoping some guru can help me figure this out. I know one thing, if I set up the hardware myself, there is a market for conversion. I could start a whole other business!
Thanks for reading.
Peter P Young
