SEQUEL from ASC includes this as part of its base functions. Pseudocode:
EXECUTE VIEW(MyView) RECIPIENT('ftp:server/directory')

ZMOD FTP may be a good fit for you. Cheap, no way. But, it has a large variety of functions.
As a side note, would you please post your solution?

Bentley, thanks for the note.

I'm going to try a few. We are current customers of ASC's Sequel so that
may be the first one I'll try.
Can anyone point me to a good AS/400 FTP product.

I would like a product that let's me select a file and optionally specific
fields within the file and send it via FTP. The product needs to unpack the
numeric fields, insert decimals, etc.

Also, an important requirement is that it let ME choose the delimiter. Some
of my business partners want comma delimited, some want pipe delimited, etc.
so I need to decide, on the fly, the delimiter.

I also need to have easy to interpret return codes to tell me whether the
send/receive was successful and, if not, the reason. Preferably via a
MONMSG method.

I'd like to have it imbedded within a CL without any problem.

I don't want anything that requires a lot of programming on my part, just
plug and go.

Oh, I also want it to be relatively cheap!

Did I ask for enough? <G>

TIA,

Let me know if you'd like some examples of how we set up and use it.
