When doing an upgrade to i5/OS, there is more work involved in the planning of the upgrade than in the actual upgrade itself.

When you have done the planning, the actual upgrade is simple.

We will cover planning tips, pre-requisites, the upgrade itself, and then post installation requirements. Your upgrade isn't complete until this last step is done. While this presentation will focus on upgrading to V6R1 & V6R1M1, if you are upgrading to an earlier release, you will still learn a lot.

By the end of this presentation, attendees will understand:

1.  What steps are required for an upgrade.

2.  What to check for the upgrade.

3.  What needs to be done afterwards to ensure success.
