MKS Inc. has announced that it earned the highest score for its current product offering in an evaluation of requirements management tools by Forrester Research in "The Forrester Wave: Requirements Management, Q2 2008," report.
In the report, MKS received the highest score compared to all other products for its current offering in the categories of requirements analysis, reporting, security and solution architecture. MKS also received the highest scores in the evaluation for corporate strategy and revenue growth.
"In an upset, the three year-old requirements management capabilities in MKS's ALM solution turned in the highest current offering score in our evaluation" declares Forrester. "The product includes outstanding support for Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel as requirements input mechanisms and superior support for requirements reuse (both core requirements management capabilities) in addition to great strength in security, workflow, and reporting (all typical capabilities of an ALM solution)."
In Forrester Research's 79-criteria evaluation, MKS's requirement management offering, MKS Integrity, went head-to-head against five standalone requirements management tools and three other application lifecycle management (ALM) solutions. Forrester states, "The strength of the MKS solution demonstrates the power of specific requirements management functionality built on top of an ALM platform."
With regards to standalone requirements management tools, Forrester advises organizations to "be aware that these tools on their own cannot improve application lifecycle management practices such as traceability, workflow, and reporting across the life cycle."
"We are proud to be named a strong performer in Forrester's evaluation. Earning the highest score for current offering reflects the success we are seeing in implementing requirements management for customers enterprise-wide, as either a standalone solution or as part of a full ALM implementation," said Philip C. Deck, chairman and CEO of MKS Inc.
MKS Integrity provides a next generation requirements management solution for organizations who are suffering with quality and time to market issues stemming from poor and ever changing requirements. MKS was the first vendor to build its requirements management offering as part of a single-repository ALM platform. While other vendors claim to have similar offerings, MKS is the only vendor to offer a unified ALM platform today.
