New release adds host mode to connect to multiple Power Systems servers and centrally manage messages and resources across a network.
Help/Systems, a leader in systems management software solutions for Power Systems servers running IBM i, has announced an enhancement to Robot/CONSOLE, its message, resource, and log management software. This release adds host mode to Robot/CONSOLE, which allows it to connect to multiple Power Systems servers and centrally manage messages and resources across a network of systems from a single display.
Using Robot/CONSOLE and Robot/NETWORK, the network management software, users can manage messages and monitor system resources—such as lines, controllers, subsystems, printers, as well as the logs for FTP, auditing, and security—across a network of Power Systems servers or partitions. Robot/CONSOLE users can create and manage the rules that automate the handling of critical messages and resources, and connect to all partitions or systems in the network from a single graphical console display for enhanced system monitoring.
Robot/CONSOLE message management software helps administrators save time by sending new instructions to remote systems from the centralized host. System administrators can send multiple rules and setup information to individual systems, or distribution lists, to guarantee that message-handling procedures are consistent across systems. In addition, they can create sophisticated message suppression, notification, and automation procedures using OPerator Assistance Language (OPAL) and share them across the network.
This release of Robot/CONSOLE also provides two new reports that consolidate the data from one or more systems into a single report. The consolidated Most Common Messages report lists the number of times each message ID was sent over a specified date range on specified systems. The consolidated Good Morning report can summarize message activity across systems for a specified time period. This enhanced reporting makes it easier for users to manage messages for multiple systems.
