IBM's Hotel of the Future program allows hotels to secure a broad suite of IBM-standardized IT services.

Superclick, Inc., a technology leader in IP infrastructure solutions to the hospitality industry, has announced that its gateway has been selected by IBM as a core technology for its Hotel of the Future program on a worldwide basis and the deployment of InterContinental Hotel Group's Hotel in a Box initiative.

A modern hotel is more than a marvel of architecture, design, decor and comfort. It is also a sophisticated technological investment requiring the most up-to-date IT systems for management, communications, security and entertainment. The current method for acquiring the needed technologies is a complex effort of discovering what is needed, finding reputable providers, purchasing the correct solution components, putting them together and hoping they work harmoniously, training staff, and supporting the solution with a myriad of different phone numbers. It is like buying a car by selecting the engine from one provider, the seats from another, the body from a third, and hoping they all work together.

IBM's Hotel of the Future program allows hotel brand owners to secure a broad suite of IBM-standardized IT services essential to providing differentiated and world-class guest service and support, including property management systems, telecommunications, high-speed Internet access and 24x7 customer support, call accounting, voice messaging and door lock systems. IBM has selected technology partners for this program which can be most effectively integrated into hotels in a cost-conscious manner. Hoteliers and brand owners are left with the additional benefit of fewer technology vendor contracts to manage, and the services a deployed and supported by a single vendor, IBM.

Sandro Natale, Superclick's CEO, commented that, "Simplifying the technology infrastructure development and management process is an important advance in the industry and we are pleased to have been selected by IBM as the core gateway technology for the IP infrastructure management of its Hotel of the Future Program, as well as for the rollout in IHG's Hotel in a Box initiative. This is a great validation of our efforts to deliver a superior product with support to the hospitality marketplace."

According to Raul Arce, IBM's Vice President of Travel & Transportation, the Hotel of the Future program will make hotel owners' lives easier and reduce costs because they will require fewer technology consultants. Owners can streamline their procurement, consolidate applications on a single server, reduce personnel requirements and even power consumption. "We selected Superclick's gateway for our Hotel of the Future program because it is truly best-in-class providing greater network reliability, better IP infrastructure management with the ability to reduce bottlenecks and prioritize network traffic. The Internet gateway is a core and critical piece of our technology solution to the hospitality industry and we think Superclick is a great fit for us."
