We use the SEUPLUS PDM extension in Linoma\'s RPG Tool Box to do this and insent other colors and attributes in source code.

See this link for an easy way: Colorize comments in free format RPG Hope this helps, Robert

I believe a user-defined line command could also be defined in an SEU user exit program to "colorize" a line. Block line commands can be created as well to "colorize" blocks of lines as well.

In both the LPEX editor and CODE Editor, comments are always colorized.

An easy way to insert display control characters into SEU is to map keys in Client Access to \'type\' the correct hex value. This can be determined by trial and error in the keyboard map utility. Four example characters and their corresponding attributes are shown in the diagram. Map these characters to a key combination such as CTRL-F1, and by pressing this key sequence you can insert the desired colors.[file name=6aea8055_SP32-3b.JPG size=24>http://www.mcpressonline.com/images/fbfiles/files/6aea8055_SP32-3b.JPG[/file>

Code page translation might be a problem if you embed unprintable characters in your source. Examples of this are FTP to an ASCII platform, SNADS to an iSeries with a different code page/language, editing source with a PC editor like Code/400. Try one before wholesale colourising your source code base. --buck

Problems: 1) What happens if I have a character string constant \'// \'? WOn\'t the blank get replaced by x\'22? 2) WHat if I code /END-FREE in a position other than position 7? 3) And what if I code /FRee or /EnD-free? 4) Does this even compile? One IF statement seems to be missing a semicolon. I suppose you get what you pay for, eh? Anyways, this would appear to be useful only to those stalwarts who stubbornly cling to SEU. q
