Users now have a single query tool supporting Unicode that is capable of working in a branch office anywhere in the world.

Symtrax, provider of multiplatform reporting solutions, today announced the launch of StarQuery 3.3. StarQuery’s new version provides an even more sophisticated way of mining and updating ERP data, including that from JD Edwards. Through the use of multidimensional navigation, users can now launch a thorough analysis of real-time data in Excel or Open Office Calc.

StarQuery is a reporting solution that extracts data from any ERP (JDE, INFOR etc.) directly into Excel with just few clicks. The interface allows an intuitive visualization of data and is designed for organizations seeking a quick and efficient tool to improve productivity.

With the release of StarQuery 3.3, the solution now handles Unicode databases, making it adaptable to international companies working with non-alphabetic databases. In practice, Unicode support allows you to read a wide variety of data that includes special characters (i.e. Asian characters).

According to Bernard Aldebert, Symtrax chief executive officer: “We are fortunate to have many large international companies as StarQuery clients and one of their repeated requests was for a single query tool capable of working for all their branches anywhere in the world. StarQuery 3.3 satisfies that need.”

In addition, for JD Edwards ERP users, access to the data dictionary has been optimized by storing it in memory; allowing a more flexible interaction with the StarQuery’s MapDesigner module (MapDesigner is used to create end-user friendly views of the database).

StarQuery 3.3 increases the speed and efficiency of decision-making, whether for management control, sales analysis, inventory management, or dashboards, according to the company. It has been developed using C# for Microsoft .NET, ensuring ongoing ease and speed of development and maintenance. StarQuery Suite requires no data warehousing or modifications to your existing infrastructure, and the installation can be completed in just a few minutes. It has been optimized for short response times while delivering the power of dynamic analysis and multidimensional data views.
