Insight Investments Corp., an independent lessor of IT and medical equipment, has announced that a new division of the company will deliver data replication and recovery services to small and medium-size enterprises using services from Internap.
The new Recall Division of Insight Investments Corp.-Insight Recall-will offer off-premise data replication services to mid-market customers allowing them to perform frequent backups of critical data and then quickly restore that data if needed.
According to Insight marketing director David Carpenter, the company considered building out its own internal data center, but the challenges proved burdensome. The service requires an intelligently designed and expertly managed data center, certified to the highest industry standards and compliance requirements, including SAS70, that features 24/7/365 power, cooling, connectivity and security capabilities to ensure mission-critical operations and business continuity.
"We decided to outsource while retaining all the original requirements," Carpenter explained. "Internap fulfilled all these requirements, while being one of the few financially viable and cost-effective providers of their type. They also provided an additional benefit in the form of their 'smart bandwidth.' Because Insight Recall moves very large amounts of data over the Internet, the quality of the bandwidth was critically important."
