Do the figures you have access to break down the number of new installs vs the number of upgrades? Is their any breakdown of applications the machine is used to support? What about operating environments? In other words, are people upgrading their machine to support a larger payroll or increased order entry requirement just because it is more cost effective than replacing their entire hardware and software base? Are machines being upgraded to support substantial and completely new applications? If so, what are some examples. If any completely new installations are being performed (I mean no AS/400 ever existed on the property before the date of install, and not new small servers in a brand new location of an existing install), what are these being use for? What percentage of growth is based on inertia and what percentage is based on new velocity?
