Wonderfully well said article, Thomas. IT workers in America could not have a worse enemy than Harris Miller and the ITAA. Companies that are outsourcing IT, manufacturing, service, and every other job except Wal-Mart greeters had better count on their business coming from overseas, because unemployed and underemployed low paid Americans don't buy much. And come to think of it, neither do low paid Indian and Chinese workers either. rd

Your prediction is unfortunately correct. Kerry mouths the words about offshoring but as usual can't come up with a proposal that would actually make a difference and after the election it will all be water under the bridge. If we had an effective unifying force for IT perhaps we could have a purchasing freeze of our own to match the hiring freeze about a month after the election. Postpone all purchase both personal and IT related for a month. That might give us an indication of how things will be in this country when all the jobs are outsourced.

The article stated: Before the Senate, Miller says he represents the IT industry. But by his own statements in the testimony before those members, he acknowledged that his organization represents only 400 members, "many of whom are global information technology companies generating 50% or more of their sales revenues in overseas markets." Who else knows this? Besides us, I mean. Dave
