I hope that I'm not giving away a trade secret, but this tirade was put to bed a few weeks ago. It was accurate when written, but my ISP has since implemented a combination of effective anti-spam measures. Rather than being greeted with more than 225 spam emails each morning, I now see between 15 and 30. What's more, now they trickle in, rather than flood in throughout the day. I thought about naming my ISP here to thank them, but it was at the top of my mind (although certainly not the only company occupying that position) when I wrote my tirade about IVR systems. A recent call to my ISP did not leave me in a mood to grant them kudos. With the dramatic reduction in spam that gets through, this will likely be my last spam tirade until the spammers find a way around my ISP's measures. Curses! It was such an easy target. I guess I'll have to actually work at these tirades now.
