    Helping Big Brother

** This thread discusses the article: Helping Big Brother **
    > I have half a mind to take your concerns seriously. > While I don't believe the range of an RFID is much > over 20 feet (at least with current technology), I'm a licenced amateur radio operator (Ham) and I bet that I'll be able to read RFID devices far, far beyond that range. When I get my hands on one I'll test it, but I can talk (TALK, not simple morse code) over a hundred miles using milliwats of power in the same frequency range as RFID tags. The antenna one uses makes a difference. --buck
