As a woman in the IT consulting field, I find it disheartening to personally know how difficult it is to hire women for IT projects. For the last project opening that I had, I received more than 30 resumes. Only one was from a woman and unfortunately she was not technically qualified for the position as I needed more actual experience in a particular language than she had. I would only be too happy to see this trend reversed in the very near future. The question is then how to achieve a reversal of the current trends so that more women see the IT field as an area where they can be challenged, prosper and experience career growth.
