  • Domino running standalone ~ or ~ secondary partition

We have a very large production AS/400 that pretty much runs everything within our manufacturing business (ie BPCS). We are moving toward Lotus Notes. After looking at our installation options we are thinking about putting Domino on its own partition on our current production system. This will save considerable money vs. purchasing a standalone Domino box. Has anyone else attempted this with less than desirable results? If you have any "gotchas" that we probably haven't thought about please advise. TIA Scott

A lot dependsd on how much integration you want, how much memory you have, how much storage is free, and the size of your budget. If you have the room on your existing box, and you want tight integration with your existing applications, there is really no need to create a separate partition. A lot also depends on where you see the shop going five years down the road. Dave
