You should not have to change the device description. Using an OVRPRTF command is generally sufficient. You might want to take a look at the appendix of the CL Manual. There you will find a listing of all font IDs, along with the printers that use the various IDs, and what the fonts translate to. Dave

Changing printer fonts on the device description
But we don't want to use OVRPRTF on all the printer files - there are too many. Or is it possible to override all of them from one specific library at once? Then again they are printing with normal font on other printers so we don't want this global change anyway... Thanks, Anna

Changing printer fonts on the device description
Assuming your print file is QSYSPRT, the default font of the printer file is most likely overriding the device description. You could change the print file itself using the CHGPRTF command to use a font of *DEV. You may want to copy QSYSPRT first. Dave

Changing printer fonts on the device description
Hi - Is there a way to change font for all the files coming out from a printer by changing the device description? I was thinking of changing the font parameter so I tried three various ID's and different point sizes but nothing changed. The problem that we are having is that the font comes out too small on all the output. The printer is HP4100 and is configured as a Lan device with option Host Pritn Transform set to Yes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Anna
