You can still use RPG IV (ILE RPG) without the free form. There is no need to go all the way back to RPG III. Dave

RPG Free Form Syntax
moving to rpg/ile would be easier, if that is possible. the free format syntax, in most cases only needs to be made columnar to work. the %BIFS, etc still function the same way. this situation probably points out that two sets of code back-up need be maintained at your company. one for clients not able to use /free and one for clients who can. -bret -
RPG Free Form Syntax
Does anyone know of a tool or a way to convert RGP Free Form Syntax back to RPGIII? The company I work for still has clients that are on V4.5 and the Free Form syntax of course will not compile. We may have to rewrite the code in RPGIIIComment
