MSACCESS "memo" field type does not copy to iSeries PF

I have a linked table from Access to a physical file on the iSeries. I then make a copy of a "work" table to the linked file. I have no problems with text and numeric fields copying over, but a "memo" field type does not copy. There are no errors with the copy function, it's like the copy just ignores the "memo" fields. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Diane
