Analyzes, selects, engineers and implements cross-functional solutions for problems that are not specifically defined. Work assignments are diverse and complex. Requires advanced knowledge of many fields and disciplines and an understanding of how the practices are applied and integrated. Responsibilities will include interfacing with users, designing and writing program specs, coding, documenting, training end users, installing and testing programs and maintaining programs. Work will be performed on an AS400 platform using RPG. Lots of analysis involved - not just coding. Will be working with DMAS and VAI System 2000. (Experience with these packages is a must!) Essential Duties: 1. Engineers cross functional solutions, designs and develops solution interfaces, integrates solutions, defines technical requirements, supports solution design, supports package & custom application software. 2. Analyzes escalated problems, develops and implements solutions. 3. Debugs, creates and executes test scripts and reports the results. 4. Analyzes services level exceptions and identifies trends, determines root cause, and resolves. 5. Defines application quality standards based on statistical data. 6. Codes and configures diverse and complex programs from technical specifications. 7. Documents technical specifications, including job flows, data flows and program structures. 8. Ensures quality of deliverables. 9. Adheres to all IT processes, policies, standards and procedures. Experience Required: A 4-year college degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Computer Information Systems or related areas of Information Technology or business-related fields and 5-8 years of progressive broad based information technology and business experience. 5+ years of RPG 3, RPG ILE on the AS400 platform and strong analytical skills. Knowledge of DMAS and VAI System 2000 is very important. Some local travel to other plant locations.
