LA County area AS400 shop is adding a new position for a Programming Supervisor to oversee 7 Programmer Analysts. Help mentor the staff with their programming skills and techniques. Some "hands-on" skills would be desired. Must have come up the ranks through Programming, know RPG400, ILE RPG, some type of ERP experience, Project Management skills. Any Knowledge of JDE World, DMS, EDI would be helpful. § Supervise application support group staff. Assign projects, balance programming resource usage and monitor progress. § Work with business users to gather and analyze their business requirements, develop process and application design, resolve issues, and define appropriate IT solutions. § Review programming problem reports and requests for programming services with users and prepare required documentation. Report request status to users on a timely basis. § Create functional specifications and work with developers to create detailed technical design specifications. § Prepare project plans including estimating effort for project tasks. Monitor project progress/status, identify resource requirements needed to complete projects and communicate when milestones cannot be met with current resources or constraints. § Develop programming guidelines.
