Systems Engineering Administrator - 70-95k+bonus - NJ - No sponsorships or relocation assistance available at this time. Our Financial Services client in Northern New Jersey is seeking a Systems Engineering Administrator to join their team. The primary function of this Administrator is to provide second level support for the iSeries technologies. This includes implementing new systems, change management, performance management, software and hardware architecture. This position will also enforce and pursue all aspects of iSeries standards that have been mandated throughout the firm. This position is crucial to the timely execution and delivery of the production schedule. This position provides 24 x 7 x 365 AS400/iSeries engineering/administration to ensure that both business and user requirements are satisfied and complete. Primary Responsibility (varies by experience) A) Administer the AS400/iSeries projects by focusing on the optimization, installation, networking, and maintenance plans for hardware and software including servers, peripherals, network nodes, terminals, and wiring. B) In tandem with the Manager, responsible for the performance analysis of AS400/iSeries systems and network. Follows the architecture, integration, and installation plans. C) Evaluate AS400/iSeries network hardware and software requirements and capabilities to make recommendations to senior management. D) Administer tasks for installation of hardware and software. E) Work with the applications and engineering teams by supplying operations input and requirements for each new IT project. Other Responsibilities: Participate in weekly Vendor Meetings of Core Technologies (Applications and AS400/iSeries Hardware) Assist with On-Going Documentation and Support of Core Technologies Monitor and/or assist other departments Attend Staff Meetings Cross platform escalation Use Remedy to record all new issues and update trouble reports generated by others Participate in projects when required Improve production through Automation of routine tasks Responsible for iSeries Change Management and Performance Management Give guidance and suggestions on the future direction of the iSeries Partner with the development and communication teams to provide both support and suggestions in implementing changes in the environment. Minimum Requirement Skills and Knowledge Required: Strong technical and non-technical communications skills Ability to establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence in the group's knowledge of and concern for both user and business needs A proven track record of diverse technical staff membership in multiple projects through system development life-cycle phases in accordance with established direction and standards Broad range of AS400 systems, performance, and network knowledge is required Project management skills and experience managing remote locations a plus Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline More than 10 years of related experience responsible for strategic planning, technical services for hardware/software engineering, and production support of AS400 networks Financial industry experience, high availability / real time experience preferred TO APPLY: Please forward a Word version of your resume to: kristenl@jwnj.com Resumes without salary history/requirements and citizenship status cannot be considered.
