Possible Contract to Hire - Must be local to Southern California. Urgent need for an IT Director - IBM AS400 - JD Edwards World. Client wants to modernize software and infrastructure. They need the right person to recommend the right tools standardize multi-location data centers. This client needs a "hands-on" IT Director to manage a staff of 3 locally including local IT Manager and 3 and their remote site. Manage several contractors and network support providers and possibly evaluate staffing these needs with in-house technical support. Salary is open, but you must submit your recent salary history with resume. They are also currently seeking to do a joint venture to manufacture in China. You would play an important role determining IT reporting structure and standards for these new ventures. Responsibilities · General activities include strategic/tactical guidance, IT hardware/software purchasing and vendor relationship, internal customer service, and cross departmental team work for the support of development/deployment · This position reports directly to the CFO · Manage and maintain all IT systems and infrastructure, manage a number of proactive projects along with day-to-day IT operations, develop and communicate IT vision and plans, recommend purchase of hardware and software. · Internal customer service in support of over 150 people · Network Infrastructure: WAN/LAN, Help Desk Support · Enterprise applications systems management: JD Edwards (help evaluate upgrade) · Manage Telecommunication assets and costs · Software/Hardware: Standards, licensing and compliance · Vendor relationship management (IT purchasing) · Work with General Managers at each of the locations as well as corporate IT to contribute to the continuity of computer services by providing necessary technical leadership and project coordination · Provide hands-on troubleshooting and support when required · Stay abreast of the latest developments in IT technology while balancing these with the needs of the business · Direct information management, budgeting, strategic and tactical planning, and business process re-engineering and database system strategy. · Identifies user needs and directs programmers and IT departments to work across all levels of the organization and determine the need for development of new or modified IT systems. · Day to day management of IT staff, including Network Admin, Desktop Support, and programmers · Maintains and develops technical and troubleshooting skills to keep current in platform Infrastructure. Experience · 10+ years of progressive experience in IT technology · 3-5 years in a management role · BS Degree in computer science · Strong work experience with network design, implementation and maintenance, [SQL Server], AS/400 administration, data warehousing, T-comm and JD Edwards applications or other ERP software. · Expertise with vendor contract negotiation and project management. · Ability to analyze information related to computer technology to assist in directing company management in the selection of software and hardware to meet the needs of the organization · E-commerce and transaction experience (they mean EDI for now) · Experience in the integration of acquisitions or the successful implementation of a new system Contact: Bob Langieri – Director bob@excelsearch.com Visit our web for more opportunities at: www.excelsearch.com Visit our web site for more info.
