MBS Textbook Exchange, Inc., based in Columbia, MO., is the leading provider to the college bookstore industry for used college textbooks, comprehensive store management systems, and simplifying the distribution of educational materials for distance learning programs. IBM AS/400 Application Developer / Project Manager for MBS Retail Division. This division is primarily focused on acquiring and selling college textbooks directly to students, and secondarily to high school textbook purchasing agents. Duties: Manage software projects and develop IBM AS/400 applications pertaining to the MBS Retail division. Software interfaces to warehouse management systems, accounting systems, customer service systems, Internet systems, and external Internet book sellers are also part of this scope. Qualifications: Previous experience in software project management or the ability to demonstrate this capability is required. Ideal candidate will have a solid background in database design. MBS is primarily an IBM AS/400 RPG ILE shop and preferred candidates will have previous experience with RPG ILE and AS/400 CL. Experience with SoftLanding Turnover, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Project, C/C++, Java, and other software tools are a plus though not a requirement. This position requires strong leadership capabilities and the ability to take responsibility for mission critical applications in a quickly growing and fast paced development environment.
