Hello,
I am doing some research on iSeries Communication Standards to be a guide for our Development Group. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this subject keeping Performance in mind.
My particular environment has a mix of both 5250 Client Access Users, as well as Remote Access from various methods which has caused an impact on Interactive Response time.
We are going to use Shared Pools when necessary and set the appropriate Priority for different communication types. This is all done over TCP/IP.
Example....
--- Mode --- --- Best Practices ---
Interactive -------- Telnet, DDM, DRDA
Remote Servers ---- ODBC, JDBC
Access to DB2
iSeries Batch ------- FTP, SNADS, QFILSVR.400, QNTC
Print --------------- IPDS
I would appreciate any feed back you may have, or would like to hear how you control this in your shop.
Thanks,
KAL
