Are you specifying a member other than default (*FIRST) on the DSPPFM command? Dave

HOW TO GET THE ALIAS DEFINED ON A TABLE INSIDE STRSQL

I HAVE A PHYSICAL FILE THAT I CAN DISPLAY ALL THE RECORDS USING DISPLAY PHYSICAL FILE MEMBER COMMAND, BUT WILL GIVE ME AN EMPTY DISPLAY USING STRSQL SELECT COMMAND. I SUSPECT THIS FILE HAS AN ALIAS DEFINED TO IT, AND I WANT TO DROP THIS ALIAS. ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS WHY THIS HAPPEN. MAYBE ACCESS PATH ISSUE? TIA.

Thanks David. The problem is now solved. The members displayed in the Work With Members Using PDM is not sorted by date, but by member name. So it gave me the impression that it is the first member. The DSPFM command proves it. It will display the member based on creation date(*FIRST). The first member is by default the same name as the file name when created. But for whatever reason a member name has a date earlier than the member with the same name as the file name.
