SSL Telnet may use ports 442, or 996 as a general rule. Theoretically, and AFAIK, you copuld set up any port to do most anything. It is just anticipated that certain ports have certain set functions. Dave

Telnet on port other than 23 ?
Can I set the AS/400 to listen on another port for telnet sessions. I have my regular telnet sessions using default port 23. I have about 100 users that I want to be able to come in on a different port is this possible ? I want to be able to hide port 23 from the outside world you know the OTHER side of the firewall..... Thanks Brian
