Using the AS/400 to intiate a transaction on a Microsoft Server

We have the need to geolocate the service addresses in our AS400 application. We found no software on the AS400 to perform that function. There are plentiful applications for the Microsoft environment. While there are many expamples of pc or server conectivity to the AS400. We can not find any examples of AS400 to server conectivity to access APIs on the microsoft server. We are thinking of a transation through HTTP. Any thoughts?
