  • FTP to the host name

We have setup our 400 to look at the DNS servers on our network which allow you to use the name when using ftp. This can be done with option 12 on the CFGTCP menu or by using CHGTCPDMN directly. Scott Mildenberger

    FTP to the host name

Hi. Is it possible to set up AS400 to use a host name for FTP, (example: FTP2.sendfile.com, etc…) instead of an IP#? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- We use FTP daily to send data, to our customers/partners, some of them changing their IP addresses frequently. So I Add/Change new IP #’s via ADDTCPRTE/CHGTCPRTE commands and I have no problems as long it is an IP#, but now I have to use host name (example: FTP2.sendfile.com) instead of IP#. Is it is possible to set it up on AS400? It works on PC, but I do not know how to set it up on 400. Thanks in advance. Gary
