  • Connection Problems when Mapping Drive to QDLS

We are currently running Windows Domain with NT/2000/XP clients and are having problems mapping drives to QDLS. When mapping the drive it intermittently fails because of incorrect username and/or password. If the initial mapping is successful on subsequent attemps to logon to the mapped drive may result in the same problem ie: incorrect username and/or password. Whe it fails to connect and the logon prompt comes up it shows the windows domain name and username ? ie: \domainnameusername Is it trying to use the domain logon and if so why ? Is there a solution to this issue ? We do understand there is a solution involving creating local accounts but this is not a viable option for our particular environment. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Cheers Scott

In XP check for the location of the "HOSTS" file. It is in a Windows/System/Drivers subdirectory. The contents of the HOSTS file should contain the IP address and name of your system. Dave
