  • Issue using Image Catalogue for PTF upgrade

Attempted to use Image Catalogues to install the latest Cum PTF package onto a V5R2 partition.

After following the instructions to Create the Image, Add the Image, Load the Image and then finally Verfiy the image we then took option 8 from the PTF menu to Install PTF Package.

After selecting the options the screen just sat there and no license programs or volume information appeared on the screen.

Looking in the job log we get the message:

    MCH3601 Escape 40 17/10/09 13:19:15.275952 QSYIEXIT QSYS
Pointer not set for location referenced
A pointer was used, either directly or as a basing pointer, that has not been set to an address.

This recurred many times until we get another message

    CPF87F8 Escape 40 17/10/09 13:19:15.301120 QSYIEXIT QSYS
Unexpected internal system error occurred in program WTESWAP.
An unexpected error occurred in program WTESWAP. The internal error data is 0001. Recovery . . . : Look at the job log for messages that indicate the reason for the error.

Tried to google WTESWAP but get nothing back.

We had installed PTFs from an Image Catalogue the previous week on another partition with a higher release of PTFs at it worked fine.
This partition has had no PTFs installed on it since August 2006 and we need to install them so we can upgrade to V5R4.

Anyone got any ideas as to why this would not load???
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
