This might be a problem with your main processor card. We had odd intermittent lockups like that on our Model 530 and couldn't find anything in problem logs etc. It wasn't until the card failed completely and the system halted that we knew what was causing it. Have your IBM service provider go over the box with a fine-tooth comb. Jimbo
