1GB should be enough. First off, make sure you have version 7. It twice as fast on most stuff, and uses less memory. Second, exclude the WDSc subdirectory from on-access read in your anti-virus. This alone can dramatically increase speed, esp startup time. FWIW: My startup time is under 3 seconds

WDSC requirements
In Joe Pluta's WDSC Step>by>Step, he lists the minimum computer requirements for WDSC, which we surpass, except for the 1GB of RAM, which we just meet. We find the time spent to load, refresh, change current lib, yada, yada, yada, extermely slow. What are the optimum requirements to make this product work really well? I'd like to get them in our next budget.

WDSC requirements
Hi Karen! What version of WDSC are you using? As Mr. Barstow suggests, WDSC 7 is faster than previous versions. Different functions can be slowed by different issues. For example, loading the workbench depends very much on things like disk speed and CPU speed, while starting new functions (such as the first time you load the RPG editor) also depends on RAM. Loading a list of members from the host, however, depends much more on network speed and host load. Give us a little more specific information on the problems you are having. Joe
