  • Restrict command usage

Authority to run commands is given or revoked thru the Limit capabilities option of the user profile. You can either give them full command line access, no command line access or partial access.

You could also edit the object authority (EDTOBJAUT) of the particular commands you wanted to restrict. This can be very cumbersome without group profiles, or authority lists, but can also offer maximum flexibility. Dave

Is planned restriction based on restricting command line, or restricting commands/programs run from the command line? rd

        Restrict command usage

Hi, I need to add access restriction to the as400 commands via menu. Could someone suggest what are the options that I could implement? One alternative is to add a new menu option to the user's initial menu. And then restrict access to this menu option. But I am not sure if this is possible. Please advise. Thanks,
