  • CSV File

I'm on V5R4. On this version of the OS, the CPYTOIMPF has a RMVBLANK parameter. The allowable options are:[*]NONE (default)[*]LEADING[*]TRAILING[*]BOTH I don't recall what version of the OS this option became available, you should check to see if you have it. I tend to use RMVBLANK(*BOTH).

I'm testing the CPYTOIMPF cmd to create a CSV file on the IFS, this works - except I am needing it to trim the extra space from each field instead of leaving the empty spaces in the fields. EX: 12345 ,fname ,lname , 33334 ,firstname ,lastname , I need each field trimmed as: 12345,fname,lname, 33334,firstname,lastname, I'm working with V5R4, is there another command I can test with that would create the csv file with trimmed fields? foxj: OH - I see that parameter, the one right before the "field delimiter" that I just set. I should have seen that. Thanks - that is exactly what I needed!! Diane
