    The important lesson, however, is not to murder the executives in your company Now that you mention it, it is not such a bad idea. After all there's nothing expendable about an executive. Equal time should be devoted this concept, as it may save companies millions of dollars in the future. Just think of how vibrant Enron, or World Com might still be if someone executed this plan. :-)

          Here's the magical transition statement in the article, easily found in any similar article in the last 15 years: If some combination of a 5250 user interface, agonizingly long navigation through menus and screens to perform individual business functions, and the requirement to sign on to different applications to enter or retrieve related information in a repetitive fashion is causing frustration, then refacing your legacy systems with a GUI may produce some significant benefits. Hello, providing streamlined access to desired functionality works in any interface, even 5250. Fortunately this vendor is light years above the garbage printed in trade mags through the years citing the six months it takes to develop a green screen versus instantaneous prototypes. GUI, of course. rd
