Yes, you're exactly right, Java 5 has been out for quite some time, and that's stated within the opening few sentences. The intent of the article is to highlight the new language features of the language, primarily to those folks who may have learned on a pre-1.5 version of the language. I've seen many instances in which people simply get moved to a 1.5/1.6 JDK and simply don't use the new language constructs, not because they don't want to, but because they don't know they even exist. What's this article doing coming out now?? Java 5 is already 2 years old, and most of my development is done using Java6 !!!! Is this a mistake, whereby the date is wrong and should have read 2005??
