VB and FTP

I do not know of a way to return the date through an FTP command (of course that does not mean that one does not exist!), however, what if you had a simple program that updated a file with the system date and then you ran the program using SITE RCMD pgmname and then either FTP'd that file to your pc or read it with an ODBC connection? HTH, Joe p.s. Do you have a working VB program example that FTPs to the AS400?
