One minor feature available with iSeries V6 OS is the ability to
generate at no charge a PDF instead of a spool file.
Check that out on http://systeminetwork.com/article/ge...ng-only-i-61-0
.
On the other side, one of the major features available with the iSeries
Easy400 MMAIL free package, used to be the ability to automatically e-mail
spool files (after optionally converting them to PDF) via command
STREMLSPLF.
Today the V6 ability to directly create a PDF without going through a
spool file conversion does change the overall MMAIL perspective.
Spool file to PDF conversion utilities are no longer needed.
What today is needed by iSeries users is just a free software able to
e-mail PDFs as soon as they show up.
This is now done in Easy400 MMAIL through command STRMONIFS.
It allows to e-mail PDFs to user-specified distribution lists, as soon
as they are created in given IFS directories.
For detail information, see page http://www.easy400.net/mmailh/othutils.htm#strmonifs
.
Command MMAIL/STRMONIFS does not necessarily need V6 to be there.
It is available starting with OS release V5R2.
Even if you not yet have the V6 AFP-PDF transform facility, you can
start enjoying today a new PDF distribution strategy.
Download the new iSeries MMAIL release now at no charge.
