I have a TECH that needs to be able to delete device's controllers etc.. I have given the tech *IOSYSCFG but this only enables him to delete what he creates. The only way that I have found is to give *ALLOBJ which I do not want to do. OS400 V4R4 What am I missing ?? Thanks Brian

Allow delete of objects
An easy way to give this "TECH" authority to all devices and controllers is to enroll all of them in a single authorization list, and then give the TECH *ALL authority to the objects on the list. This will make device management much simpler, and will also help you with Telnet devices. Telnet devices are very often deleted and recreated when a new user connects to them (watch the QAUDJRN's Object Delete and Object Create entries and you'll see it). At releases V4R4 and later, the authorization list will automatically be transferred to the new device description, and your TECH will be authorized to all devices. jte
